Here is an issue parents have voiced in our forums since March:
We’ve noted that parents have continually expressed confusion about the school's four programs, and particularly, about whether substantive differences exist between the Choice and Neighborhood programs' teaching styles. Parents had so many basic questions about the Healey's programs that we had to take a list of questions to Mr. Sabin for answering at our multilingual coffee hour on May 7!
So tell us: what are your questions and thoughts about the Healey's 4 programs?
(Do you feel the Choice and Neighborhood programs at the Healey are different in some important ways? Do you want to keep the Choice and Neighborhood programs as distinct programs? Do you want to combine the programs into a new school? Keep the best of Choice in that new school? Move the Choice Program to its own building? Or pursue some other option altogether? These are the various possibilities the School Committee is considering.
(We have noted that all parents sound confused and worried about the process of determining the Healey’s future, even as there is also excitement about possible next steps.)
